Sample more than 35 different market fruits, all grown in Peru and organized in different categories. You will get in-depth explanations to each of the fruits and their usages. The fruit tasting starts at 10:10am or 3:10pm right before the lunch or dinner class.

The fruit tasting takes place in our location, not at the market, as the fruits need to be cleaned.

  • 7-10 different citrus fruits
  • 3-5 cactus fruits
  • fruits related to tomatoes
  • different mango varieties
  • 3 different passion fruit varieties
  • fruits native to Peru like Lúcuma, Chirimoya, Camu camu, Taperiba

Market tour + Fruit tasting + Cooking class

The market tour starts at 9am at the main entrance of the Market Nº1 of Surquillo, and takes around 50 mintues. Afterwards we head to our location and continue with the fruit tasting at 10:10am and cooking class at 11am.

You will see how a typical Peruvian market looks like, and see the incredible variety of ingredients. We will make stops at different types of stands: at a vendor of fresh fruits, a stand with fresh vegetables, a herbs booth,  a store for dried produce, as well as meats, fish, seafood, and specialty stands.

We show you where we get the ingredients for our fruit tastings and cooking classes and how to chose the ingredients.
